Swab Art Fair is Barcelona’s biggest Art Fair. Founded in 2006 by Joaquín Diez-Cascón, Swab has not stop growing.
I was hired to develop and design a new web 10 days before 2011th edition.
With a really little budget and no time to test it, the web page was published 3 days before the opening and got around 17.000 visits in the next 10 days.
The Maze on the Wall is an installation done while I was studying in Barcelona (UPF).
I have always felt fascinated by the idea how diluted is getting the line between the real and virtual world. This is a first attempt of understanding the relationship of objects with their reality.
The installation used a whole room filled with soft balls with which the user could interact with the installation by throwing them to specific targets projected over the walls. With a wiimote controller you could control the train over its path. When a train ended its route, a ball from a hidden box was released to give a final feedback to the user.
This project received the award for “Most original installation”.
Lummoblocks is a new version of the legendary Tetris game designed to create social interaction between people in public spaces.
I had the opportunity to make a small collaboration when it was shown in the Ars Electronica Festival 2010 in Linz, Austria.
Lummoblocks is an idea of Mar Canet and was first shown in Madrid, in Medialab Prado’s led facade.
Back in 2010 I had the opportunity to join a small studio called PinPongTech. While working with them Barcelona’s soccer team, F.C. Barcelona, build a new museum. We were asked to build two huge multitouch walls for showing all the history of the club.
We built the detection system based on lasers and infrared cameras with openFrameworks.
FNOB, Fundación de Navegación Oceánica de Barcelona organized a sailing race around the world that would have as starting and end point Barcelona. They asked the UPF university to develop an online application where the people could follow the race as you are participating on a virtual race with real bots and virtual botes.
I had the opportunity to join the project and learn from people who have been working with Flash and web development for long time.
